| $149.95 ckrc builders special, bang for the buck?
2 sets of axial locked axles, tranny, shocks for $149.95...good bang for the buck if i already have a body, wheels/tires and want some replica aftermarket shocks for a 'scale' build?? anyone have good $ucce$$ with this route, or are enough parts needed from a regular full kit (at a good Xmas sale price.$225) to warrant its purchase?) |

seems like a good idea $40 X 2 locked axles $40 X 1 tranny $60 X 1 set crawler shocks =$180 already savings of about $30 i know for a fact that my next build is going to be using an after market chassis, which will call for a set of "non-stock' links what shocks come w/ this? definatly a good option for somone who's already dipped into this obsession we call rc rock crawling Last edited by NeXt559; 12-02-2008 at 09:37 PM. |

If you have all the rod ends amd misc hardware it sounds like a good deal for a build. Last package or rod ends I bought were 25$ for 16 I think. Then there is the all thread rod and buck plus for each ft. Then there is the 1/4 thickwall tubing5$ plus for 3 ft... Got screws??? nuts???spacers??? A simple build can add up in misc costs...I just whiopped up a comp rig and cleaned out my rod end and some of my bolt supply...Time to reup... If ya can look into a local fastener supplier. I get my nuts and bolts from then for like .02 cents each...Sure beat 25 cent each when ya need 16 of this and 16 of that. I get got lots of 50 ea... Cost like 5$ Actually I order mine thru work they just add it to the shopping list for me seeing its so cheap. |

I wouldnt count axial rod ends as a + they suck. I would much rather just get traxxas ends from the start.. I think the deal is good if you have supplys to build with... if not your much better off with the ARTR then you can upgrade as needed..

its definately a great deal for what is included 2 complete axles, 1 axial rear steering lockout kit, 1 axial transmission, rod ends, balls and set screws, 2 drive shafts, 4 yokes, 4 shocks, springs and oil, HD axial lockers, 1 Steering kit, body post and body pins, 1 sticker kit, and more the package was designed for someone who is building a custom truck. it doesnt include the stuff that people commonly replace. body, wheels, tires, chassis, screws, and links. plus it includes straight axle adaptors and some other cool stuff |

I just got done building my first clawler and used this kit with a SWX. Most of the screws where in both of these kits. The rod ends come with the builders kit. There was alot more in the builders kit than I thought there would be.

If your tool box is filled with extra parts then this is a great deal. Building a first crawler might lack a few parts. But so far it sounds like i am wrong. No matter what, If its an AXIAL, Its worth it. |
