Default Leaky AX10 shocks

I have the AX10 kit, I'm almost done building it but I'm waiting for my ESC to show up. I noticed that all 4 of my shocks are leaking around the caps already on this thing, I have'nt even run it yet!

Are these shocks that bad?

Their not 'that' bad but yes very known to leak. I assume you put the Orange large o-ring inside the shock cap and not around the threaded area? Common mistake Ive seen to many do.

You can try teflon tape from any plumbing supply place, ive personally had better luck using Automitve Liquid teflon sealer from autoparts stores. others have mentioned a dab of RTV also.

Hope that helps. There is a Huge variety of available Aluminum shocks available for the Scorpion so you may want to think about replacing them sooner then later.

offtopic- Location= Niantic ..... as in Niantic, CT?

Yes, Niantic CT. I actually just got done (about 5 minutes ago) swapping overto aluminum shock bodies, so far they are dry. I do have some of that liquid teflon sealer (Loctite, PST) I may try that is these start leaking again at the caps.

I duno if I would use loctite but a little permatex will stop the leaking and help hold the cap on

I have put thicker o-rings in the caps and they have been dry for months!! They were some old viton (chem. resistant) rings-same size as hydraulic o-rings....no tape or sealant mess required

Loctite is the Brand ...... the liquid teflon is easier to use then trying to wrap the tape around and you can use a little dab and not have it look so messy.
