| well. i'm constantly learning something new here. the other day we had a small comp at the hobby shop. what i seen was my axial chassis is to high. alot of the trucks were real low. i want to get mine down low as well. there are so many options out there. i was looking at two so far, the GC-2 delrin and the slingshot. kind of like the slingshot more. what my other major issue is the twisting from torque. 3 wheel motion in turning and such. this setup i have ain't going to work for me. i boguht this rig off ebay already setup, bought it before i did enough research, ok hardly any at all. ha ha you know the story, hurry up and get it to play with. we all know how that turns out. anyways, i want to be able to still rin a truck body, i think. here is what i currently have. ![]() I like the way this one sits, it is all flat and low, but still has good GC. ![]() This is the one i like. i like the way it sits so low. everything is flat. | What I would suggest also is put a 1/2 inch piece of fuel tubing inside the shock on the shaft to limit travel it will also bring your right height down a bit. You can even go with 1/4" of an inch at a time just to see how you like it. A new chassis is a good idea but if you run your shocks the way you have them now your rig is still going to be high. Try to get the rig at about 3" to 2.5" this is a good ride height but everyone will give a different opinion. I had my stock Axial at 2.5" and it performed better than it did at 3.75". | Whats up howard. Heres some pics of my set up. I put the lower links on inside of chassis. Moved the spacing outboard on axles. changed springs to softer.( which usally would make torque twist worse). Flipped shocks upside down. And the battery on the axle always helps. Chris will make you one for 25 bucks. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Losi Shocks will get you down to a lower level, and they are way more tunable than stock Axial.

Just because you reverse the trans dosen't mean the TT will just go away, it's all in shock setup and link placement. Get some Losi 4inch shocks https://www.ssl-stormerhobbies.com/c...ns&pn=LOSA5082, then fill them with some 50wt oil, then get the TCS Boomerangs, http://www.tcscrawlers.com/On-Sale-1...g-p-16523.html rear, http://www.tcscrawlers.com/On-Sale-3...g-p-16526.html front, also triangulate your lower links and this will all but about get rid of the said TT, hope this helps it is the setup I ran on my stock ax-10 and it worked decent.

i too wanted to lower my COG aswell as frame and i just picked up a set of 4"losi crawler shocks and now my belly sits flat with my lower links sorry they are a little blurry...camera was cold stock axial shocks ![]() new 4" Losi Crawler shocks ![]() havent had much time to mess with it since the install but the little amout of time i have ive liked it not as tippy i have to remove the spacers that i put inside though so i can get a little more droop when im flexed and they have an adjuster nut which has allowed me to significantly eliminate TT 4link will also help with the twist

Besides lowering ride height with shocks, A lot of getting low is about mounting your body lower. To get it really tight, the battery has to move off the top of course... and you have to make new holes in the body. Alot of the low CG setups you see are made possible by getting a smaller chassis. It's tough to get a body "slammed" as low as the orange truck you referenced with the stock chassis. You can get close though.

Howard, I would stick with the stock chassis and get used to it before you upgrade. How long has it been? a month? You can get the stock chassis to perform great. If you want it to be low, just limit the shocks like we have been saying and mount the body lower. Mount your electronics low like in this pic ![]() Get a different battery pack and mount it on your axle, and you will be good to go. I have a used 6-cell spilt pack that will fit on your axle that I will let go for cheap. Here is a link to my first thread. helhedded's first big boy build You just need to spend some time with it

cool i will hit you up for the battery pack. Well so far I added a spacer inside the shocks, repositioned them. moved the lower links to the inside on the skid plate. it still has the 3 link setup though. I also took off the square ladder bar links and put in some standard round bent links. would like to go to the 4 link. after those changes looks like im about 2 7/8" clearance. so looks like i need to slam the body, get some axle packs, mount the controls low. i'll get some pictures up once i get the controls mounted in. Holiday has me busy. Thanks for all the input. keep info coming.
