Default This is Ducky, comments please

So Ive had this Ax10 for 3weeks and have done a couple of things that seem to help. 4link and the cage helps on space issues where the body was getting hung up. It works well but it really likes to do back flips, Ive thought/considering moving the battery as forward as possible and hanging it off the cage.

Im also looking for the best shocks? suggestions?

I made the cage out of 3/16 & 1/8 weldable steel it weighs about 1-2lbs and is strong. I was just looking to make something that bolted right to the stock chassis but Im thinking now I need to make a chassis and new cage so everything is lower. right now Im running Losi Rock Claws with lead weights and teddy bear guts instead of foam(which works great) and Axial Red springs on front and right rear the left rear has stock blue with big spacer

let me know what you think, all comments appreciated!!!

Between the height/weight of your cage and the battery placement, your CG is way up there. Move the battery for starters and take a look/read around here on RCC at other peoples setups and you will find some of the best tech for better performance.

I have losi all the way around I just didnt in picture, and tires are weighed.

Im just about convinced myself just to build a chassis so I can have everything lower...I just hate how the comp rigs look, I really want a scale look with comp. abilities.....(oxymoron)

the thing works great, just on our course theres some steep inclines and sometimes I can get them, others not. In a real comp. how aggressive are the inclines? if its just having issues on my course I dont really want to change everything.

I should just build another one

UH...why use the axial chassis with the tuber on top?....Just weld some shock and link mount brackets on your cage and cut a new skid for it. Then all you have to do is put split packs on the front axle.

oh, for shocks i suggest losi crawler shocks.

thanks, I was trying to keep as stock as possible to a point? if that makes since and I was going to build this while I was building the exo-cage for my Tamiya toyota cab. but I got this done and liked it. Im going just going to build a different cager with the mounts and everything.

thanks for shock, those the "4"losi shocks" that RCP has? thats actually what I was going to look into further. EDIT: these?> http://rcpcrawlers.com/product.php?p...&cat=14&page=1
100% bolt on? can I use my current springs...

thanks!!

you can if you cut them down a little...but the springs that come on them are 100% better.....run the ones that come on em in the front and maybe cut down your stiffer axial aprings for the rear. Or just order 2 of the losi yello springs for the rear.

Get a 2/3 A split pack for the front axle and the losi shocks. But remember it's your rig and if you want to sacrifice a lower CG for a more realistic look, thats cool.

Id run the split packs....but they just look wrong to me. I deal with the full 7.2 as best as I can

tomorrow or wednesday Im going to start to build a "wreckluse" knock-off

but change some things so its not a total ripoff (I love the wreckluse just 2much$$)

so Im wondering now, about whats the widest Id want to make the whole thing? I like the width now, but it doesnt look scale and theres no protection of the shocks...then again I dont even know how Im mounting the shocks on this.....huh, Im going to have to bust out the old pencil and paper and do OG stlye...
