Default Annoying Axles

I am finally we up with the stock axels. I wasn't going to upgrade them because I'm just bash with this truck, but they keep popping of the U-joints. I have tried the zip-tie trick, didn't work, I just put on a set of HR drive shaft rings and those were a joke (and a waste of money). So, now I am looking at some different shafts, are these any good?

Thanks.

I kept popping the stockers off and breaking them and I went to the Traxxas Stampede shafts and havent broke one yet or popped one off. You can get a pack of 6 males and females for around 9 bucks.

MIPs are what I run now but I had Stampede shafts & metal yokes before. They are a good cheap upgrade but eventually they will give out as well. You can beef them up a little though:

Part numbers are Traxxas 1953 and Traxxas 4628x (metal yokes).

I'm still trying to figure out how you pop a drive shaft. I have the HR rings on mine and have nver popped one. Be sure you have them snugged up all the way.

The problem is that once you pop them they will start popping off easier. The plastic will give. Actually, the first shaft I broke it the cracked from the hole in the ear. I replaced it and added rings, it worked for a while but finally they stretched and started to pop of constantly. Especially the shorter rear because of the dig and added angle.

I upgraded to MIPs because of 3s and 45t HHH and now I broke the cog on my DIG...

The more power you add the more parts you will brake until everything is heavy duty...

But on the Axial based scaler I'm building I'm using the original with rings and make sure I dont have too sticky tires.

what is the best way to get them on there? the stock ones i mean, or the stampede, revo or whatever plastic ones you have. seems once you spread the ears to pop them on the first time they just dont hold as well.

I run the MIP's and have had no problems-I have a slipper adjusted pretty tight. It slips only when in extreme blinding like when two wheels are lock in holes. I'm going to make a driveshaft DIG with the ped shafts soon. Need a servo for the dig. Matt

+1 on the MIP C Spine drive shafts, my very first comp I popped the drive shaft off of the rear yoke behind the transmission it cost me 5 point for the repair, I went home and got all MIP, problem solved...
