From my short look into this chassis Im not 100% sure it is comp legal. But I guess that would be all in how you interpret the rules. Oh and this is nothing like the SSS chassis.

Why wouldn't it be legal? As long as you run a legal body over it...and it sits at or under 12.5" WB...doesn't matter what the chassis looks like.

If you look at the chassis carefully you'll notice the rear shock mounts are not stationary. They pivot to allow the rear axle to droop the way it does. Now like I said depending on how you interpret the rules it may or may not be legal ie. shock mounting is not "fixed" rule 2.1.5

Yeah, kinda see what ya mean. It could also fall under this section...

2.1.7 - Active Suspension
is allowed - A suspension that is interlinked (such as the 1:1 Scorpion, excluding the air bags used to raise and lower the vehicle) which by design moves part of the suspension in one direction when moved from another. This does not have any driver input.

Good point. I would like a definitive answer to this style of chassis. I am going to assume for an instance that it must be comp legal if there was one running at nat's last year. But confirmation would be good.

So from the pic on the left, to the pic on the right, almost the same amount of weight is applied to the links, so why did the rear shock mount pivot versus simply dragging the skid.
The rear sprung susp is fully extended in both pics., while the front almost did not change at all.

The upper and lower links look almost the same length. So the axle is pivoting in more of an arc, and becomes more clocked as it swings.

But with no load on the shock mount, what made it pivot?

Look at the relation of the upper shock mount to the spur gear in these 2 pics

Do you see it now?

Yes, I saw the pivot point the before.
So are they running spring loaded droop in the front, so on a slope as in the drawing, the spring in the front shock is holding it in droop (even against the weight of the trans/motor/chassis), so it allows the rear to swing down on the the upper shock pivot point.

It has to be a stronger spring then most ever used in droop.

For the price you get a chassis and dig unit by the looks of it.....also for the price you could buy...another complete crawler. For the price I would expect it to pull some very impossible lines.

Unfortunately items like this that are made here in Japan tend to come at an inflated price.

It is a very interesting design. And I would consider buying one if I knew it was comp legal. Would be nice to get some kind of confirmation on this

I can't see why not. Every crawler changes it's wheels base as it flexes and it not like you are actually controlling the stretch on this.

I'll be picking one up when the hit the UK.
