Belly drager

Hotrodblder 12-09-2008 04:48 PM

I think it looks pretty trick. When do you think the vendors/US will see them?

Nerve 12-09-2008 04:54 PM

Hmm, it appears to be the chassis design that the Japanese competitors brought to the Nationals this year. At least the crawler shown in the video looked to be exactly like those ones.

Neat.

edit: click on the girl holding the hammer in the upper right corner ... LOL!

genki 12-09-2008 04:58 PM

It was designed by one of the guys who competed in the USA last year. I hope to have some instock on release pending price (which is generally quiet high in regards to crawler parts made locally).

Looks awfully similar to a Axial trans  Is it supposed to be the trans from the AX kit?

Why would it sit so low and still have sprung shocks at one end? The sprung end will come up further than the bottom of the chassis by quite a bit...especially with how laid over the shocks are.

In the vid it looks really floppy and unpredictable.

That is how they looked at the Nats.

This is more than belly dragger, the chassis sits lower than the axles. I did see some very interesting linkages at nats.

I think they are selling it as an AX-10 conversion kit. And I agree very floppy.

genki 12-09-2008 05:59 PM

It is a conversion kit and requires an AX10 to complete.

More info in "english" here >>>> http://www.active-hobby.com/axial/ax10_cle.html

Not sure on the functionality but it is good to some innovation out of the norm...so to speak!

thunder7845 12-09-2008 06:22 PM

No thatnks I'll stick with my GC-2.

bighitbomber1 12-09-2008 06:47 PM

Nice lookin rig but it would never work where i crawl...waayyy too low!!

Harley 12-09-2008 11:33 PM

Yeah they were a very different style, got a really good look at them in Moab.

They were running a 6 link in the rear, lots of redundancy. The outrunners they were using looked like they were the size of a small stack of nickels

CreepyCrawl 12-09-2008 11:40 PM

Wet noodle with Losi Claws...

But I can see where it would be very planted in certain (key word) situations, with some much heavier shock oil.

HAhahaha

Tupers 12-10-2008 04:39 AM

I wouldn't mind trying one of those if the price isn't to high. I kind of like the belly dragger look, it'll need a bit of tuning but what crawler doesn't?

Crawl Brawl 12-10-2008 10:13 AM

BILLYGOAT 12-10-2008 11:15 AM
