WOW, this is great. I got so excited , I almost pee'ed myself. Now I can get rid of my big a$$ spur gear and put torque multiplication where it belongs.

Hate to be a buzzkill, but the difference between the stock gear to the lower gear is only about 14% difference. You'll be able to go up about 3 or 4 teeth on the pinion or down 10-11 teeth on the spur to keep the same overall gear ratio. I wish it were a bigger change, but if Axial's intention of these gearsets is to do some subtle over/underdrive gearing, then they'll do well. I'm glad the option is out there.

It would be nice to have a helix cut stock gear ratio too. I love that you guys put the extra touch into the gears and really like to underdrive the rear but would also like to have the nicer gears up front (already have the HD's but no Helix ) Really awesome though guys! |

I guess I may have been the NOOB asking about some lower gears that has been referred to a couple of times. I know what goes into making and producing this kind of stuff, so don't think that I believe that you made them just for me (but thanks for making them just for me!!!!). I'm patiently waiting. Thanks! |

| Yes, if the intended purpose is the over/underdrive setup, it is decent. No question. I'm guessing it will make the rig turn much better if nothing else. I may try some just to see for myself. My point was people going gaga over these low gears, when it will be a fairly subtle change, not a night and day one. In the other thread the discussion was about getting a significantly lower gear to reduce torque twist. My opinion is that 14% gear change in a crawler is not significant. That's all. A different perspective. In full scale, it would be like changing from a 4.11 to a 4.68. In a race car, that would be a huge change. In a 4x4, not so much. |

one more ?, will you be releasing a set of helical hardened stock gearing as well? Ive been looking for helicals, been thinking of the RC4WD diff setup in the meantime, but now i can just go with these. i want stock infront and low in back, but i ll buy 2 lows, incase i want to run it low/low. so why cant i buy a set now again? LOL |

Higher gearset ratio = 2.57 Stock gearset ratio = 2.92 Lower gearset ratio = 3.30 I love that manufactures are addressing the ring and pinion options but I personaly would like to see an even lower set maybe with 49 teeth on ring and 11 teeth on pinion. That would give you a 4.45 ratio and you would be able to put a smaller spur gear on the tranny. This would put most of the gear reduction in the axles and eliminate torqe twist. I am not saying that I disagree with Axials decission with what they came out with. Simply stating that I dont think this will be the only option. As with anything in our sport things change all the time. It is only a matter of time.. Thank you Axial for listening to the masses... |
