AX30402 - 43/13 Gear Set

  • Use the gears in different combinations front and rear to reduce torque twist in the rear and overdrive the front axle to help pull you through climbs easier
  • The heavy duty gear set offers improved gear mesh reducing slop in the drive train.
  • Spiral cut gears offer increased gear tooth contact and run quieter.
  • New gear ratios offer a low gear and high gear range
  • The lower gear range set reduces torque twist (43/13)
  • The higher gear range offers higher top speed (36/14)
  • Hardened steel for increased strength and additional weight in the axle
  • One set per axle required
  • Laser etched markings

i was just about to say the same thing.

i was waiting for a set like this, and held off on the original HD gears....
NICE 8)

you guys just keep taking my money

davec 01-16-2009 02:05 PM

Great idea. Good thinking, Axial. About time we had options for gearing in the axles.

All_Rise_05 01-16-2009 02:07 PM

Those are nice. Don't you want to run the same gearing in the front and the rear?

GaBronco 01-16-2009 02:07 PM

Talk about listening to the masses! this is awesome, now, How Much?

hitman46mod 01-16-2009 02:08 PM

Not if you want to over drive one end or the other, would be an interesting combo to overdrive the front, like axial said.

XPLORx4 01-16-2009 02:19 PM

Overdriving the front (i.e. making the front wheels rotate faster than the rear) can help pull your truck over obstacles, rather than have the rear tires try to push the rig up in tandem with the front. Think of it like a constant limited-slip dig.

jeepik 01-16-2009 02:45 PM

sweet

when will these be available to purchase from vendors???

Matt.k 01-16-2009 02:48 PM

Brad has been running the stock ratio in the rear with the high speed in the front, he loves it!

I run stock in the front with the lower ratio in the rear with the stock ratio in front, the reduced torque twist in the rear is nice and you still get the overdrive for the front.

Our testing has shown that choosing either all one gear ratio, or running a combination of the stock in combination with one of these nets the best results. We tried the high speed/low ratio combo and found that it caused issues when in binds sometimes. The low speed set would stutter trying to catch up to the high speed gears.

Thanks,
Matt

cool more wheel speed. I want the high speed set.

Right, that's because the center transmission is a locked transmission. Now, if we had a very locked up limited slip center 70% lock, that would cool.

tjb 01-16-2009 03:22 PM

Sweet! order I shall "thumbsup"

kikcaffine 01-16-2009 03:26 PM
