Default FLM Skid Plate Machined Arms

FLM has kept me in the loop on something interesting they have been working on. Nope I didn't have anything to do with the design other than, "you guys need to make some cool looking arms". Basically What you see here are replaceable delrin inserts that are slicker than snot. Tear them up and just bolt up replacements and you are all new again.

They are so new I haven't even had a chance to try them out. Hopefully a build coming soon with them.

I can only tell you what we had originally discussed. They should be about the same weight as the Axial milled links and the same length, however I have no idea what the final production length and weight are.

They look great I'm a big fan of FLM. I used to own an e-maxx that had every FLM part I could buy for it.

OK the package just showed up today and all I can say is wow.

Jamie wanted my to give them a thrashing to see if there were any problems. They should gliiiidddddeeee across the rocks.

Also in my shipment were the new FLM all steel drive shafts and a Delrin SPV2 prototype. I will keep you posted.

If I give FLM the then they will go right into production along with the other new items.

OK - Here's the goods.

The skid links are outstanding.

The Delrin chassis is a little flexi but but I think it's going to work very well.

The Steel drive shafts are captured versions that appear to offer around 1/4" of travel and I might add reliability that should rival MIP. I have asked Jamie to work up some shorter versions for use on DNA and other digs. Did I mention the shafts were stainless steel on the prototypes - don't know that the production versions will be stainless steel but we'll see.

Thanks I will let FLM know they have a number of "testers" if they need them.

The funny thing is that would would think I have about 30 SPV2 chassis at this point, but I have only have a couple REALLY USED/TESTED prototypes and then a one of the current production chassis. Of course the Delrin chassis just showed up. Anxious to see if I can manage to break that - doubt it.

Are these available anywhere? And is there enough material I could drill out the 3mm threads and retap to 4mm?

RC Bros or Holmes either can order and ship direct from FLM. I have been testing these and I am very impressed. They seems to glide over rock better than aluminum links that tend to bite on rock.
