You could use the stock mounts from your AX-10 and just drill holes in the chassis and mount that way. Or you could go with the traditional method and mount the body like other RC trucks from the top and just get extended body post. Just a thought

Aluminum plates bent to work bolted to the chassis with heavy duty velcro to secure the body.

Using the "STOCK" bolt-holes along bottom of door....I made a delron mount bolted to the frame, extend out to meet the body...might need to step it up or down in order to get the body where you want it, highth wise...

set your cab on the chassis and figure out its height over the chassis you want.
then, fab up a couple body mounts to your xtrail the point straight upward in the front. (tmaxx posts work well). cut the body post a bit lower then where the body will fit, maybe 1/8th inch. take a small piece of flat plastic, and mount it across the top of the body posts. slap on a piece of velcro, and the other piece of velcro on the body under the hood so it matches the other piece. now the velcro will hold the front of the truck body securely. now do something similar to the rear of the cab.

sorry i dont have any pics. this is how a few of our local guys are doing it. looks great, cuz you dont see any body posts.

and the larger the pieces of velcro you can use, the more secure the body will be.

ill see if i can find a pic or two in my buds PB accnt and post them up when/if i find them.
