nice start on the mechanicals I'm not so sure about the body but at least your trying to do something different. What is the material you are using for the body?
Also who makes those shocks they look pretty cool, they look similar to a droop set up but with internal springs pushing the shock 'open' so to speak, is that correct

styrene sheets for the body. the wheel cutouts match the articulation pretty good, nothing rubs. hopefully it will look better with a little bit of paint. it was mainly a learning experience on how to put it together.
yup intergy shocks with internal springs and droop.

they felt stiff at first, changed the springs to a softer set, 3 hole dampner and lighter oil. very smooth and compliant now.

I notice you are running your bent links 'reversed' on the front. I run straight links out front but am curious to know, does it help running the front like that

any form of clearance is good in rock crawling , unless youre running like 4 inches of clearance under the skid

sorry my mistake, after having a better look at the photos I realised the links aren't reversed.:-(
I'm only a newbie but I know that clearance is good, having said that I have seen a lot of rigs with bent rear links and straight fronts I presume that this is to help prevent hookups when the links are sliding across rocks. I was just wondering if there is a differance in performance with the bend at the axle end instead of the chassis.

That body is...well.... interesting.

On another note, that is one fat Nokian tire I see. You crazy Canadians always have sick bikes! What do you ride? I used to live in Seattle and rode the North Shore of Vancouver and Whistler occasionally. Unfortunately, I sold my downhill rig a while back.

Anyway, your crawler looks like it's coming along!
