I made a slight revision to the link arcs and they cut the new ones today and are shipping them to me. I'll post up pics and once I do my strength and flex tests to make sure I didn't screw anything up they should be ready to go. I have beat the living tar out of the vid proto rig and have yet to damage any part (harder to break stuff when you're this light).

I appreciate all the comments guys and look forward to seeing more of these in build threads and in comps!

Well, while I'm waiting for new parts to finish up the final production build I started working on my personal extreme light weight comp build...which is really what this thread is all about. It too will use the new side plates on their way to me now.

So anyway, a few things I'm doin for my personal build to drop some weight includes:

Removing excess material from the skid plate,
Making a near weightless dig servo mount to use a much smaller dig servo,
Lightening the motor plate (or perhaps make a custom super light weight one to drop the motor into the skid pocket ),
Grinding excess material from the axles,
Pulling the Sidewinder and replacing it with something a lil smaller,
and a few other things.

First things first...here's the modified skid plate. We milled .040" off the top of the entire skid and then milled a pocket .220" into the top of it. Starting weight, right at 1.6 ounces...final weight, .7 ounces Now just a bit of tapering to do in the bottom center to remove catch points and it will be ready to install.

With that, I'm gonna call it a night. Been hard at it since about 7 Friday mornin...but these projects just won't finish themselves
