Plretty slick take on Torsion !! How well do the "shocks" flex when they are dragging across rocks? Nice and low too. "thumbsup" |
Nice work Don. Interested to see it up in Omaha. I want to see how the Delrin acts. Now what wheels are you going to use? |
is that like an elipptical rear end? |
Nice work! Those tires sorta look like tractor tires. Let's see some vid! Almost looks like too much flex, but I'd like to see how it works out for you. Are your wheels weighted? Have you tested how much it will flex before it goes beyond the point of no return? |
I like it. Did you have fun cutting the tires? |
6 Attachment(s) Thanks Harvo...this design works well floating holes as I've already been running this same setup on my 1.9. I'll let ya play with it in Omaha Josh. Elliptical rear end??? Wheels are currently not weighted. Forced flex is only about 70 degrees the way I have it setup right now. Still springs back just fine. The tires cut easily enough. I took my time so it took around 2 hours to get them just how I wanted them. Here are a few more pics. Steering is a temp setup while I wait for my BTA high clearance knuckles to arrive. Still have to install my ESC at this point. The Dig servo mount is the new ultra adjustable mount we are producing. It offers 3 mounting points for a full sized servo and 4 for the mini servo. Don |

http://www.backcountrybinders.com/im...tical_rear.jpg I believe that is what Slave was referring to. However, this appears to be a torsion rig. It looks like you cut the side plates out and included pieces of delrin that continue all the way to the axle on either side. Correct? |
Correct, just a simple torsion chassis with a 4 link setup, but the concept is very much similar to the elliptical rear ends of full sized rigs. |
very nice!!!! chassis and tires came out great!! now where's the video!? |
for sure the best looking torsion chassis iv seen yet. "thumbsup" great work |
