some of you may have ran into me on here. alot of you have not... i have been crawling for almost a year now and it is taking over my life. if im not in school or spanding time with my ol' lady; im going to be in my "man-cave" eaither gaming or working on my crawler enough about me... and more about my build. Chassis: SWX Axles: Axial with rear lockout Steering: JR Z9100T Digital Ultra Hi-Torque. homemade "BTA" Steering kit Rear Lockout: Axial lockouts, Axial straight axles Transmission: Axial with S3R dig HS-255 mini servo Drivelines: mip thundertech wheels/tires DNA Assasins with panthers Speed Control: novak rooster Motor: brood 35t Shocks: losi 4" Battery: lipo so i started to put it all together and as you can see i still need to tune it up a bit. new shocks, tires, drivelines should be here tomorrow so ill have to finish it later. i also need to drill the skid for the S3R tranny. and figure something out for the body mounts Last edited by robbio4422; 06-04-2009 at 02:19 PM. |

I have the same dig you have. Looks like you have a slipper clutch too? Yes it is close to the chassis plate.

after 9 days of waiting for my shocks i recieved the wrong ones... i wasnt being really picky when i was ordering. i knew i wanted 90mm black shocks and i found them. i ordered 2 sets of gmade shocks and this is what i recieved right size... wrong everthing else... debating on if i wanna just keep em. been having problems with this vendor from day one.... now i know i will never use them again. as you can see i had to dremil the skid a bit to get my axles to clear it. thunder tech mip lines are installed now still waiting on my battery/servo mount for the BTA so i can relocate my lipo up front and as you can see i got those panthers hooked to those beautiful DNA wheels |

tried posting yesterday morning. spent about an hour typing it all up and when i tried to submit it the sight was down and the whole message was deleted... so ill start again. as you can see, i went ahead and used the shocks. still very dissapointed with the vendor who sold them to me! (see above) also cut out an old axial battery tray for my BTA servo/battery mount |

I am no expert but your pinion angles look wrong. Your battery tray and rear four link look almost flat. I think that is why you had to grind on the skid to clear the drive shaft. normally that is not necessary. Lengthen your upper links a some at least 1/8 inch front and rear. That will give you a bit more clearance underneath also. I was also wondering were you wanting such low GC? 90mm are on the short side for an SWX but its cool if that is what you were going for. Nice rig though Last edited by crawlincircles; 04-12-2009 at 01:05 PM. |
