Default Cheap Light Bar (very cheap)

I really didn't want to put a light bar on my crawler, but my the setup I am running forced me to....
I'm running Losi shocks, which are schweet, but not without heartaches. The first was dialing out torque-twist, not too difficult. The second was rollovers, the stock shocks kept the suspension sprung enough so that the crawler would normally land on its side during a roll over, which allowed me, most times to right it without a touch. The losi shocks compress as soon as the truck rolls, making the truck to land flat on its back, with no hope of being righted without a touch. This was my biggest problem during last weekend's comp, I had four rollovers on each course, all requiring a touch to get them righted, that's 20 points per...!

To solve this problem I bought a clip-on LED light set (made to clip on a ball cap) and mounted it on the body. I'll admit, it looks ghetto, but it works really well. It forces the truck to settle on either side or the front wheels, which allows me to get to a edge to right it with out a touch.

Here are the picks:

Yeah, I know a bug body would solve this too, which I am planning to get, but I need to wait a bit before I get one...

Looks better in the dark.

Actually, it doesn't look all that bad. I might have to think about that for playing at night...only maybe use some heavy duty velcro so it can be removed...

That is a cool custom job with those lights. When you get that bug body it will look like a rig from the Baja Races. Your center of gravity has been helped, and some flash has been added. I would be proud with myself for thinking about the whole idea.

I really like the lights on there. I agree the curve of the light would look great on a bug body. Scale Baja Buggy.

Now that's what I'm talking about. I've been thinking about trying to do one of these myself, and even though it would look much more scale, it would end up costing my quite a bit of time and money. Found it for about 3 bucks here, http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.4791 I'm going to pick one up. Thanks for the idea!

That is what I got this guy for, there is a guy at the local swap meet that sells these for three bucks a pop and finger LEDs for a buck a pop, thought about getting a few of each for projects.

Thanks for the comments!
