Default Duuuuuuuude's comp rig

Since I'm going to be comp'ing, I figured I'd better whip up a more serious rig than Homegrown (as much as I like it...).

Here's the lowdown...

ARTR base -
Delrin lowers - bent rears
Lower links are now uppers, 4-linked front and back
Servo moved to right side of axle
Lexan battery plate on front uppers
ARTR Hammers (tenderized) - 3.75 oz out back, 7 oz up front
RTR body (my son wanted the ARTR shell...)
Custom link/servo plates front and rear
Stock shocks - stock springs in rear, unknown springs up front

Electronics -
Sidewinder ESC
CC BEC
2200mah 3s lipo
Revolver Black outrunner
TowerPro MG995 servo
Traxxas micro reciever & TQ3

I was going to go full droop with this, as that is how I run my super, but I really like this setup. Torque twist really only shows up when its in a serious bind or when its nose is pointed to the sky. Ride height is approx 2 3/8".

Eventually I'll pick up another body. Green doesn't really go well with orange.

I was a little concerned (and disappointed) with the Hammers when I got it, but I managed to soften them up a bit and they're working pretty well. I just wish I could get the Flat Irons dialed in...I really like those. :-(

The Sidewinder is a flat-out awesome ESC. It makes me wonder why I waited so long to pick one up! Oh yeah...they were on sale! Thank you JRH!

The Revolver Black is just tits man...I love that thing. Coming from a motor with 3x's the speed, I miss doing donuts in the driveway, but I'll live.

The C's and knuckles are pretty hammered on this thing already, but I've got some aluminum replacements on the way. And I told myself that I wasn't going to spend alot of money on this one...lmao!

On to the pics!

Naw, just looks funny 'cause the links are bent. Still works the same. I did the same thing on my super, only they were the other way around. Its the only way I could put them where I wanted them and still clear everything...

Cookie-cutter builds are for people with a real life and no time on thier hands. I have no life and lots of time.

Actually, the things I learned building my super gave me a huge head start on this one. Where it not for that build, I'd still be trying to sort out the TT on this one.

I got it out on the big rocks today and I'm very pleased with the setup. I was pulling lines that it wouldn't even come close to a few days ago. I also found out how hard I can push the driveshafts before they pop...lol. The only thing I can think of that it needs is a little less height in the rear, and I need to move the ESC to the lower links to help my COG a bit more.

Also, the TP servo started crapping out today. It seems to be losing some power. Good thing I bought a spare!

Thanks.

It does really well. If I could keep oil in the front shocks I'd be happier. For some reason they feel about half full, but show no real signs of leaking. Seeing as how they are upside down, you'd thing there would be fluid everywhere. The rears are both as full as they were when I got it. Oh well.

Lots of places. Theres some guys that sell them here, or you can get the rod from some online vendors and make them yourself.
