Default "Boulder" unibody scorpion

I just finished her up last night. Don't mind the RTR running gear, just a mock up truck. What do you guys think?

I would keep the plastic links only to swap them with some nice delrin ones. With a little imagination I can see a continuous slippery skid front to back. I like what you 've done with the truck.

Looks nice, but it's not a "unibody" it's a Bodiless Tuber or TVP.

A unibody is all one piece (the definition of unibody) rather than body panels attached to a frame of some sort.

USRCCA has different rules for Unibody and Bodiless trucks, so it makes a difference.

What did you make it from? the roof doesn't look well supported, like it'll collapse in a rollover.

Thanks for the compliments guys. This is just a mock up truck guys, I'm not actually running the RTR rig. So no plans to change out any parts like the links for aluminum etc.

The tvp's are delrin, the painted panels are the same material as these:

The cab/roof is rather strong, it has two of these running across the top at the corners:

And the metal version will be even stronger.

Some pics on the rocks. We should have these available to purchase soon as proto testers.

I like it alot. Very cool.

What is belly clearance at droop?

I want a metal one! I'd love to do a build. Seems like I always do TCS builds - edge, x-trail, eclipse. They've always been my favorites too.

Can I offer a suggestion? Having built all the previous TCS chassis...any chance you could make those panels screw on? At least maybe the hood/roof/etc? I've gone through hundreds of zipties with my edge and eclipse and this looks like it could take some finagling to wrench on it.

Great looking chassis Kevin! That's something I'd like to run for sure.

I guess time will tell.
I'd love to see this chassis take a mutliple roll-over down a side-slope, and keep the roof.

but, $30 is a steal for this chassis, so I guess, if you do break it, a replacement isn't going to break the bank too.

Ya had me there for a second. I was thinking it was a TVP with an attached tube upper cab....but then I realized the cab was part of the plate.

Don't roll then

Looks like if it became a problem, it'd be fairly simple to add a separate piece diagonal in the rear from the top of the cab down to the opposite side top of "bed" rail.

Even continuing the roof panel back onto the rear portion a bit would add alot of rigidity.

Belly clearance is 2 5/8" setup as shown in the pics.

Screw on body panels would cost a lot more. Sorry. But I know what you're saying, lots of zip ties needed every time you work on the truck. We'll keep it in mind for the tubers. But this one might have a good option. It's not too much work to take the entire side panel off the truck if you need to get to something or work on something.

monkeyracer, we replace any TCS parts no questions asked. So if you ever break a TCS part, just drop it in the mail back to us with a note and we'll get a replacement out to you asap.

Attached are some body off pics.

Looks good . Would like see some picts of just the chassis if you could. My first thought was this would be a cool rock racer. But not sure if it would handle the abuse?
