| Hello everyone I would like to upgrade my scorpion and I would like to know what everyone else thinks I should do next. I know I need new tires what kind I am not sure. I think the Idea of a dig would be fun but I have never used one so I am not sure what the best and hassle free one is. I have included a list of the things that I have done to it so what ever else you think I should do next feel free to make a suggestion. | Springs and tires will give you a quick, satisfying bang for your buck. I'd go for lighter springs up front (Losi whites or HPI yellows, the HPI reds are probably going to be too soft), and as far as tires go.... just about anything out there crawler specific (or even not crawler specific such as the proline Moabs) will give you a LOT more grip than the stock axial lizards. |

Move evreything as low as you can. Get some Losi crawler shocks. Get some weight in the wheels. Get tires, I have panthers and I love them, but there are lots of tires that work well nowadays. That should make the truck work lots better.

I'd also internally limit the shocks. This will lower your center of gravity, which will lessen your rollovers. Another very cheap mod with a high return on investment. The stock axial shocks are way longer than they need to be.

http://www.shop.rpphobby.com/product...&productId=837 Be aware that the losi shocks are shorter than the stock axials, which will lower your CG. This is a good thing. Internally limiting your shocks was mentioned, I'm pretty sure this will not be necessary with the stock axial chassis and the losi shocks because they are shorter, though you may need to limit them on the outside to limit articulation. I run about 50 degrees of flex, more than 60 is definitely overkill. Definitely get some tires. Hot bodies rovers are pretty cheap and they work really well. Losi comp claws, proline chisels and panther cougars are also good choices. At some point you may want to upgrade your chassis. There are a lot of good choices out right now, the axial SWX and Mayhem LS2.0 are favorites of mine. The added adjustability over the stock chassis is pretty nice.

will the losi shocks still be a good shock for the upgrade chassis? I am looking at one of the SWX kits.

The losi shocks are 4" long, and SWX was specifically designed for 4" shocks, as was the LS2.0

another good investment would be the overdrive gears for the front and or the underdrive gears for the back, they are a axial part and work wonders on torque twist.

I will put the gears on the list also. I'm going to try to figure everything out that I want so I can order all at once and not a bunch of small orders. The problem with that is finding a shop that has everything I want in stock. I am very impressed with the amount of new upgrades for the crawler world I haven't had the time to play with the crawler in some time so I haven't bother looking into up grades. I have a little more time to relax and have fun with my hobbies so I am also in the middle of building a little rock course in the back yard. Thanks for the ideas everyone and keep them coming. All the cool stuff I am seeing makes me want to do a full build and have two scorpions

so I limited the stock shocks as suggested and my ride height is from ground to skid plate is 2 7/8 and that made a huge difference in the way it crawls. The tires I will get next.

For tires I would do Losi Comp Claws or Hot Bodies Rovers (white compound) When you get new tires they usually need some foam set-up. I have found in my comp claws panther f400 foams all around works well but I run a lot of weight in the wheels. In my rovers I have yet to find a good setup. So when you purchase tires read up on what foam people use and follow that to find what works for you and your truck.

While I like your body, I would also sugest a more crawler style body that will bring your COG down lower.

I agree the body does hurt my performance the tires still rub the body when flexing even after I trimmed it. A new body is on my shopping list and I really like the look of the crawler bodies.
