Default Best chassis for the buck?

My rig took a hard fall today, and must of hit just at the right spot, but my SWX chasie broke right along one of the ajustable 3 link holes. So needless to day.. it's done. Going back to the stock frame untill I figure what to do.

My question is... what is the best chasie for the buck?? I have like no cash to throw at my rig right now,but soon I will have to buy a new one. Any recomendations?

I was looking at those when I bought my SWX... Guess I know witch would have been the better decision.

Will that one work with my DNA with the standered servo mount added? My SWX wouldn't.. Was just too narrow. And I hate using those little 225mg's.

My all time favorite chassis is the SWX, Great set ups all over this forum and tech support. My next Favorite chassis is the MFM Black Widow. The widow is so simple but yet crawls so nice.

I believe it will, it is a little wider then the SWX, and the skid is a little shorter as well.

I love my rc-solutions chassis, damn thing's as rugged as a claw hammer. Its avail in a ton of colors and the panels are aluminum instead of lexan.

Here's a link

Were you using all the chassis spacers? I've rolled mine off 10ft cliffs and broken axle housings, and the chassis just laughs at it. Proper bracing makes all the difference.

PM BENDER about it;)

BTW, TCS has them on sale http://www.tcscrawlers.com/On-Sale-3...6-p-17148.html

I wasn't using the spacers. They got in the way of some of the parts I was using. That is more then likely the reason that mine broke.

sense your already used to that setup why not just buy a new set of sideplates? It will save you alot of money and time trying to setup a new design. Just add the bracing needed to the next one so that it doesn't happen again.

For sure that's why it broke, the spacers help transfer any loads and disperse it throughout the chassis, and especially on the open sideplate, it will transfer the load to the other solid side

Good point, since you can buy just the sideplates for an SWX

I really like the shorter skid link of my LS-2.0 chassis, and for $50.00 it was a really good deal. It has really good adjustability for upper links and upper shock mounting.

That is a good idea... but the SWX is still to narrow to use my DNA and a full size servo. I will need to move to something a bit larger I think.

In that case I would go with a DNA Slingshot, or a triple S Slingshot. For the money there isn't any better out there. For just under $100 you get the chassis, front and rear upper link mounts, and all the links needed. Either one will work great It will just depend on what style you would prefer.

Not true man i have a slingshot that sits while my black widow got me a top finish in the state and a nats invite. Each person has their own driving style' what works for you may not for someone else. Plus the widow is only $39.99 with links.

first off I never said it was the end all be all chassis. You said yourself it depends on a persons driving style. I can tell you though you will see way more slingshot chassis rigs at nats then you will black widows. That being said, the BW only comes with the lower links and they are straight. The slingshot is a more complete package. Congrates on your Nats spot. Good luck trying to keep up with the Slingshots that will be there.
