| Not sure if this is the right place to post this but I give it a shot. What is the advantage of a narrow chassis? I've ordered a skid from R2J for my stock chassis, and I have an idea of cutting it down a bit. Will this be a good idea (I will measure so there is room for the transmission...)? |

| Mostly it just makes it easier for the chassis to fit through tight cracks and it also makes a smaller patch for your chassis to hang up on. The stock axial chassis is closed on both sides, which makes it pretty hard to get much narrower than stock. If you look at some of the comp chassis' have an open side plate for the motor to hang out of. The motor will get scratched up some that way, but not nearly as bad as the motors on a berg. |

| So I'd better go for a new chassis if I want it narrower. I like the SWX, Black Widow, DNA and GC2. They are all narrower aren't they? |

I'm currently running a Mayhem LS2.0 and I am very impressed with it. It has a lot of nice features, it's very nicely made and reasonably priced. It's definitely worth a look. I'd also advise switching to a 4 link setup with any chassis you decide on if you haven't already. Last edited by chrisjlittle; 07-07-2009 at 01:44 AM.

you can just cut down the skid and use narrower cross braces, instead of a new chassis. I have the GC2 and it is alot narrower than stock. I believe I use 50mm cross braces, so the entire chassis is probably 55mm wide. The other brands you mentioned are probably narrower than stock as well, not sure tho.

| The transmisson will not let me narrow the stock chassis that mush will it? I'll have to check when i get the new skid. By the way, I've 4linked my rig front and rear, with the TCS boomerang and TCS servoplate in front. When narrowing the chassis I also thought of longer upper links. |
