Are we talking the standard plastic stuff? I drilled them on the side of the hexed portion with a 2.5mm drill and screwed them with self tapping screws in the unused shock mounting holes.

You could always do what I did and use Velcro

I have seen people using the mounts for the stock battery tray. If your not running the large tray on top you can put your post in the center holes of the plastic brace and run them vertically. You may need to modify the post so your lid doesnt sit so high. If you want to continue and run them on the side you can try shortening them and sucking the body in a lil, you might have to trim the bottom of your bodies a lil tho.

Little tip I noticed when running side posts is try to get them as high and close to shock/tire area as possable that helps them from getting hung up so much. I personaly use top mount posts or nylon accorn nuts/bolts.

You can use dubro ones that are most hobby shops, and then just use a hole on the chassis or drill a new hole to attach. They will mount up and shoot upward, so it won't interfere with the rocks any more. I will see if I have any packs lying around at home and get the number off of.
