| Getting my first ARTR and will be using 6 cell stick packs. Is the optional battery tray worth $20+? ... or could I make my own 'boxes' to sit on either side of the servo (to make a level surface) and strap the battery on top of the servo? |

| It will sit really high on the front. If that is your only option maybe you can only weight the front tires and place it over the rear axles. thats what I had to do before I got saddle packs. I took a peice of tupperware, traced the stock battery tray and cut it out. Then I lined it up with the holes on the top of back axle and used some 3m screws to tighten it down. Took my dremel and with the cutoff wheel I made 4 slits for the velcro straps and *viola* eazy breazy tupperwar battery tray!! so is it worth it? no not really. If you plan on making it permanant, a bought one would look better, but will perform no better than one you made. |
