You got it. You still might find that you need less, or more, and/ or some weight int he rears, but you are on the right track.

This is my first crawler (RTC) and I am researching my upgrade path. I just read thru this tech article and would like to give it a try. One question. About half way down there is a side shot showing after the suspension changes. I see that the bent links expose the drive shaft. Is this a ok? I see this upgrade kit is offered with either straight or bent links. Thanks for your help. I have been reading the forums for a couple of weeks now. Lots of good info being put out.

The exposed driveshafts arent gonna really hurt anything. If you prefer them not to be exposed they make axle c's that have adjustable camber. If you pick up a set and fiddle with the angle and your top y-link lengths you can move the pinion up out of the way.

There are two camps on this. While the exposed driveshaft can throw ya sideways sometimes, the straight links can also throw ya off line sometimes. Axial (artr) puts straight links on the front where the driveline hangs lower and bent links on the rear where the driveline can be clocked up. Plays to both camps
