| ** MSD Hybrid Comp Chassis Build ** This past Saturday, truckerbrad and the rest of the MTRCRC crew came to the MSD shop to build some new rigs for the 2010 comp season. Brad wanted to re-build his axial based rig for the new season. So here is the build and what we did for him. - NEW MSD 2.2 Hybrid Comp Chassis, designed by Harley0706, more info on Harley's original build of this HERE We also have a MRC version of this same chassis - ONLY CHASSIS ON THE MARKET WITH A SIDE SKID PLATE TO PROTECT YOUR MOTOR! - Brad is after the Class 1 , no dig truck in the build. - Tekin FXR , HERE - Tekin 45t motor, HERE - MIP drivelines - 12.25" WB - 10.25 TW - Axial trans w/ slipper - Axial axles with all the goodies - MSD link/ servo plates , HERE - MSD 2.2 straight 6 rock solid beadlocks, HERE - MSD bomb proof links - Proline Chiesel 2.2 tires - Paint and body by Crawlergraphics - Axial aluminum shocks with the SOFT springs on, 45 wt oil - All 8 links on chassis build are 90mm , set up is 50/50 , can be made 60/40 VERY easily. Chassis is available NOW through MSD, we will have it on our website and in the vendor section very soon. For now you can PM us if you would like more info. Chassis is a DIRECT bolt on for the axial artr or ax-10 kits. Very simple to build, narrow comp design keeps the weight forward and low CG for the best comp setup. Here are some pics of the BUILD, the test drive and some other shots in our shop. The is Truckerbrad's build, so I will let him talk about the truck. Unimoger tapping the links for the HYBRID. Ron and Caleb, soldering the FXR. Brad getting the axles ready more link building Chassis Built and ready ROLLER Test Drive Last edited by Unimoger; 08-10-2009 at 12:03 PM. |

Man it came out great. The machine work really looks top notch. Couldn't be happier to see it on the rocks, that is something I like more than anything else! I will own another, no questions about it My original is still on the rocks. It took 3 and 5 at our comp Saturday. I love the feel of it, always felt so planted. |

I only got about 15 minutes of wheel time before I had to leave for Lewiston, ID on Sunday but so far this is the most stable truck I've driven. It's very predictable and the suspension doesn't load up and push you the other way. I love the way the transmission is mounted forward on the skid, with no dig even though it's setup 50/50 weight wise it's about like having it 60/40. I cleaned up the wiring and will put up more pics next weekend when I get home. I'll also have more feedback when I get more wheel time Saturday.
