Finally - going LiPo with my AX10

Finally making the switch after running NiMh's for awhile. I ordered up two of these:
http://www.allerc.com/product_info.p...oducts_id=4534

With my setup, any guessimates on what my run times might be?

FXR
Integy 55t
CC BEC at 6.0v
Hitec HS-645 Steering Servo
JR Z590 Dig Servo (VP Hurtz)
Stock Chassis
Mayhem CDP's with Rovers

I thought about going 3S on the LiPos, but they were close to 2x as much and being my first venture into LiPo, I wasn't ready to spend that much yet.

Any other suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated. Also, do I need the Hotwire for the FXR to program the LVC for the LiPo or is it easy enough to do w/o?

Thanks!

glad you could make the switch, you will be very happy with them.

for the castle sidewinder, you go in and program the lipo cutoff to 6.0V for a 2S, 3.0V per cell. so a 3S would be 9.0V.

im not sure how to program it into the FXR but that's how you do it on the Castle stuff.

i get about 30 mins of run time with my 3s 1320 mah lipos, running a 35T motor.
so i would say you will get about 20 mins or so?

id expect atleast 30-40 minutes with a 55t

yes, forgot it was a 55t :?

I read some people are setting the LVC to 3.2 to 3.5 per cell... should it be 3, or is it better to play it safe and go higher?

i talked to a friend and he said 6.2V is what some people run.

i like to be on the save side because lipos are costly, and run 3.0V per cell

correct me if i am wrong, but wouldn't setting the LVC to 6.2v be safer than having it set to 6.0v?

yes that stops you .1 volt over 3 per cell witch would be a good idea for the life of the battery"thumbsup"

Got these in yesterday. Must say, that is pretty damn quick shipping. They are so small and light, I can't wait to ditch the NiMh packs. Now I just have to figure out the best place to mount it. Got the deans soldered on last night, and since I don't have the hotwire yet, I also just set the FXR to 2S cuttoff at 6.0v. The little driving I did in the garage last night after a charge, I was impressed with the wheelspeed I gained.
