Default Optional gear sets?

hey guys, im rebuilding my rig from top to bottom basically, and im not sure which gear set/s to buy. I see on the axial site it says one set per axle. I thought some people were running only the faster set upfront and that's it. i only have enough money to get 1 lol.

A little guidence would be nice, but im looking to speed up my rig a bit

it's a prefernce and what kind of drving style you have. i'm installing the 43-13 to help reduce torque twist. and have the rear not push so much up hill. but i have a 55 turn novak and not much wheel speed to begin with i will proably have to buy a 45t homeshibbis motor to get my wheel speed back up. just way in the pro and cons of the under drive or over drive

your front tires will spin faster then the rear causing the truck to want to skid all the time

Get the slower gearset (43/13) for the back. Really helps turning a bunch, and it helps getting up verticals or undercuts. I'm quite happy with them.

i am running the over drive in the front and it helps much tighter turning and i don't have any issue of the truck trying to skid what so ever and i have crawled anything from lava rock to slick rock

Im running just the underdrive set in the rear and I think it was some of the best money I have ever spent! Next to no torque twist, tighter turning, and it helps 10-fold on ascents and decents.

Yeah if you got the rear end dialed already then get the front set.

If the rear end needs a bit of work, then get the rear set.

[QUOTE=dwarrick;2001979]your front tires will spin faster then the rear causing the truck to want to skid all the time[/QUOTE/]

FAIL!! The tires don't turn all that much faster. Faster yes, a huge difference front to rear wheelspeed no.

I run the OD in the fronts and stock rears. My truck climbs better than it did before with no "skid" at all. Also the OD front acts like a welfare dig. I've found by turning full left or right and blipping the throttle it will pull itself in a tighter turn. I also like the little bit of extra pull on a climb with a lip.

i put the ud on order for the rears, as well as a BUNCH of other goodies my plan is to make this truck a serious contender for next summer! The truck before was currently junk electronics, novak motor, basically all stock ax10 kit other then a swx kit, and rock claws LOL. Bought a dig for it, and now the upgrades have been ordered Thanks guys so stay tuned for a build thread in the next 2 or 3 weeks
