Roket's Orange

Don't have a clever name for my Comp rig, so I'll just refer to it as the orange.

Specs:
Axial Ax-10 ARTR
STRC Aluminum rear lockouts, steering knuckles, skidplates, chassis standoffs.
Miscelaneous electronics
Clocked transmission
X-Trail droop springs.

Flexes pretty good, I've done some suspension tuning.

Centered driveline/clocked trans. I don't even know if I'm properly using the term "clocked" right. It is rotated. Clocks rotate. Makes sense to me. My intent was to lower the CG and center the driveline. The motor sits a bit higher, but everything overall is lower.

Everybody loves a low cg.

I'm wondering though...the motor sits a bit higher now. Did that make everything else Null?

I'd suggest putting your tranny back the normal way, the motor and the battery being that high raises your COG a TON. I'd move your battery on top of the servo or on the front links or something.
Also just out of curiousity, why aren't your running your lower links inside the chassis?:ror:
I like how you mounted your battery though, not ideal for comps, but clever!!

Battery on the front links and reciever on the servo?

I was just experimenting with centering the driveline. I saw that the Venom Creeper is set up like so, and I wanted to see if it would make a huge difference in the performance. I'm thinking not, but I haven't been able to test it on the rocks yet. I'm not a total comp crawler expert, I got started with scalers. I'll try moving the links inboard tonight and see what that does.

I'd move the RX up but I need an extension for the ESC lead first, it's a short one.

you need to get rid of that aluminum skid roket, and do a few more things, but looks good

BEN214 09-23-2009 07:23 PM

major cog increase

Realized this, and did away with the clocking setup. I'll snap some new pictures when I have time.

YEAAAAA BOOOOIIIIII, if you got a dig or an alumnum tranny case I would thing it would offset the weight of a motor

Roketcooper 10-07-2009 08:34 PM

Getting it set up properly...

http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e1...s/P1040612.jpg

Set the trans back down low, moved the front links inward, mounted the ESC on the upper links, moved the battery pack to the rear axle, and got a plate to put more things on the front axle.
