Default Where to get spacers and longer screws for 30 degree links

Didnt find just the spacers or screws at TCS or RCP. Can you get just the 9/32 aluminum spacers and the 3x30 cap head screws for moving the 30 degree links in? I did the mod instead of buying this https://www.tcscrawlers.com/TCS-Craw...n-p-16695.html but need the spacers and screws to mount the links to the axles on the inside.

Corey carries screws but no 30mm. Try giving him a call he may have some that aren't listed on the site.

I just get mine at the local hardware store or the LHS.

the best thing u can do i think is order some various length 3mm screws and washers/nuts from mc mastercarr.
i ordered like 40 bucks worth of screws a couple years ago got (3x8,3x10,3x15,3x20,3x30)
its one of the best things ive spent money on for the crawler.
it is so nice to be able to want to change somthing on the crawler and already have the right length screws already + all button head for a lower profile.

tcs sells the axial green spacer which is 6mm and then add another 1mm washer to get a total of 7mm which is the amount of the ball you took out.

https://www.tcscrawlers.com/Axial-1x...3-p-17606.html

https://www.tcscrawlers.com/Axial-Ra...7-p-17036.html

i did a similar mod to my stock skid plate, but i'm using internal shock springs so i left the links on the axle alone...

i have good luck getting bolts at ACE Hardware or your local hardware store, like others said, i bought a few different lengths of 3mm bolts, you'll need them!!

or you could add another ball, as a steel spacer

You could make some. I do it all the time with 1/4" delrin tube, a Dremel with a cutting wheel, and a 1/8" drill bit. You can make whatever size you need whenever for pennies a spacer.....you could even leave the tube undrilled, and just tap it to 3mm.....use it like a nut/spacer. LOTS of choices for very little $$$. I buy mine from McMaster Carr ( www.mcmaster.com ) I use this stuff for all kinds of crawler uses.

I got some alum tube and cut what I need with a tubing cutter. Makes nice straight cuts.

For spacers I go to Stormer Hobbies, They have ALL the axial lengths in stock(most of the time). For Screws I get mine from RCSCREWZ, But I think I am gonna make and order from McMAster carr , I build so many trucks it would be worth it.

Ok, so I live so far out I have to spend 1/2 a day to go into town that has significant stores. Spent 3 hours and about 7 places, nothing smaller than M4, not even at ACE or a fastener place that specializes. So looked online at McMAster carr and dont seem to have a M3x30 like I need to move the links inside, in a variety pack. Now im looking at RCscrewZ and found this variety pack but doesn't say if it has a 30mm in the M3: http://www.rcscrewz.com/product_info...15a8e7b22ba3d4

I did find it seperate though, in a 10 pack.

I use this kit for screws. I haven't found anywhere cheaper and I've put 4 rigs together with a couple packs.

Wish they made a delrin rod specific tbing cutter. Ever tried cutting delrin rod with a metal tubing cutter? Its not good times. The mini hacksaw will have to do for now.

I do it all the time. All my top kinks and chassis spacers are 1/4" delrin cut with a tubing cutter. What problems are you having?

Havent tried cutting 1/4 inch. All my stuff is 3/8 to 1/2. I found with the 3/8 if I went around enough times then took some grips I could snap it off. That only worked with long pieces. When its short cant get the leverage. Are you able to go all the way thru or do you snap it off?

I go all the way. Well, really the angle of the cutter wheel snaps the center off.;) I haven't tried thicker delrin yet as I only use round for the uppers and spacers. I cut out 1/4" sheets for the lowers.

i rethreaded a 6-32 all thread rod with a 3mm x .50 die then cut to length, put a 3mm stainless cap nut (found it at ACE hardware, stainless section only!) on one end (use locktite red!) and reused the plastic nut on the other end ..i used old ball ends for spacers..
