DNA dig mod?

So I recently got a DNA dig with the steel internals in trade and installed it. The dig works flawlessly, but I have been having the usual ax10 problems with the set screws on the outputs come loose and chew up the shafts. I ended up having to drill and tap holes where the set screws contact the shafts so the screw can go all the way through. Has anyone else had to do this?

I have not drilled all the way through, but I did drill a divot into the shaft. Also if you are using two set screw, remove one because it will keep the proper one from seating all the way.

P.S. I think Blueberry breeze would be a far better color nail polish for your skin tone:-P

HAHA yah, If only I had to paint panels that color at work and Id be all beautified and such.

Do you guys think this will compromise the strength of the shafts? I figured it couldnt hurt too bad. The trans outputs on my slash are drilled through and the slash is entirely indestructable.

then again the slash doesnt deal w/ the same amount of torque a comp crawler does when it gets into a bind. half the turns of a motor and no slipper

those output shafts are definatly your weak point now. what would have been best is to just drill a small divit and use red thread lock

Yah I understand that. I am gonna pick up a rebuild kit tomorrow and I will keep you guys updated on how these hold up."thumbsup"

I use a blue locktight that comes in what looks like a chapstick tube. its a paste it has not failed me yet! Broke many a output on my rig.

I had to do this on my comp build here using same stuff you did.

I even grinded the set screws too.
