Default is it or not???

The tranny on the AX10 looks a lot like an RC10 Stealth,,Is it the same internals or what?

I think the bolt pattern for the two trannys are the same to and the cases look identical,,just a different dropped motor plate.

they are very similar, but the Axial takes metric bearings and the AE takes inch bearings. So I really doubt anything would interchange directly.

Agreed! Manning hit it on the nose.

Before the Axial was introduced, we used to run the B4 Stealth tranny as it was a bit lighter than the Pede.

The 3-gear tranny is a tried and true design, you'll see them in a lot of different RCs.

yeah i noticed this too, and tried to put my old rc10 tranny in mine, didnt work too well,
