First Upgrades

First off, please forgive my "noobness" (is that a word......anyway).

My wife has been looking at the builds and videos on here and thanks to yall she no longer wants her rock racer stock. She has compiled a "wish-list" and wanted me to throw it passed you guys for opinions.

I wish I knew more about these, but my love lies with
Short-Course racing. I do have to admit.......I feel an itch.

I have a
3ch. Airtronics MX Sport 2.4 that's going into it along with a Traxxas series1 1200mAh 2/3 7.2V 6cell that I am going to disassemble and reconfigure as a 3x2 saddle pack.

Anyway, here is the wife's list.

Axial Scorpion Color Pack (Green)
Axial RTR Hardware Upgrade Kit
Pro-Line Chisel 2.2" G8 Truck Tire w/Memory Foam (2)
Axial 2.2 Rock Bead Lock Ring (Purple) (2)
ST Racing Concepts CNC Aluminum Electronics Mounting Plate (Green)
ST Racing Concepts Aluminum Upper Link Mounts (Green) (2)
Axial 14x90mm Shock Spring (Super Soft - 1.32 lbs/in) (Red)
ST Racing Concepts CNC Machined Aluminum Shock Bodies (4)
Tony's Screws Axial Scorpion Screw Kit

Any suggestions on shoulds or should nots?

the only thing i would do is ditch the axial shocks and pick up a set of maxx ones, do the cap mod and get some losi springs. looks like your heading in the right direction "thumbsup"

Like above maxx shocks or some traxxas big bores would be better than the stock axial shocks.

Another alternative is the new axial alum shocks. They are the alum version of the stock axial RTC shocks. They are super smooth, a better length (not as long as the stock shocks) have threaded bodies for easy adjustment, and beefier 3.5mm shafts.

They'll add a few bucks over the replacement bodies but in my opinion they'd be better than buying alum upgrades for the stockers. Here's a link Axial Shocks

I would not mess with the nimhs and go 3cell lipo. The stock shocks are ok with alum bodies & caps if ya limit them some but big bores are better and cheaper than the mods. Love the purple rings. "thumbsup"

Also get some lead stickon wheel weights for inside your tires. I personally run a 60/40 weight distrabution. Helps with controlling decents."thumbsup"

wait guys he has a rtr truck he cant go 3 cell yet it will fry the esc the stock shocks r ok for now move them down the list.
get u the tires an the links that is a everygood starting point
next u need a good esc like the crawl or fxr if u use the crawl u still only can use a 2 cell lipo but there is nothing wrong with the 2/3 cells lots still run them.
now maybe the shocks
do it like this an u should have a truck that will crawl in the sportsman class ok an let u get your feet wet an see how u like it

@slowride1- Yep, stock esc.......no 3c lipo.

As far as the shocks go, these are a must. She wants colored shocks.......,,hell, if I left it up to her she would have bought all the purple Integy parts she could find. I explained to her that Integy parts asr cast and not machined.
