Default hmmm...what to get?

So I recently sold my paintball stuff to put towards my ax10. Since I can only afford a few things at a time, I needed some expert advise from you folks

I got $150 of play money and I'm a bit torn on what to get. Should I get the Novak Rooster ESC w/ the 55T motor or should I get a 2.4GHz surface radio so I don't deal with those darn crystals?

Let me know what you guys think? Oh and here's how my ax10 looks like at the moment...she's still stock

Thanks in advance :-P

It's a little more than $150.00, but if you plan on adding a dig in the future I would get the Futaba 3PM-MX. They go for about $189.95.

i would get a mamba max... that rooster will hold u back a little in the long run... like battery options and drag break. if u plan on comping ur better off spending a little more now and twice as much later

Thanks for the replies...so if you only had one choice, which would you guys get first? The radio or the ESC/Motor combo?

What are you most unhappy with? Your Radio or your current ESC/motor?

If your using stock 27mhz radio, then it is probably glithy like mine was. The 2.4Ghz makes operation very smooth.

Good point ! I'm actually ok with my stock ESC and motor at the moment, though I could use a CCBEC. I would say I'm more unhappy with the radio. I guess I can just use the spare cash for a new 2.4 and maybe a 645 servo for now.

HAHAHAHA...I guess I just needed to hear it from someone else. You get so addicted to these things and sometimes choices, though clear to some, can be really tough. If I was made of money I would get all the necessary hop-ups all at once.

Spektrum has a new DX3E out.

Not expensive, easy to set up, 3 position 3rd channel, 2.4, and user friendly.

I was actually checking that out online but it only has a 1 model memory and I wanted something I could use for my other RC's.

For the same price, I was thinking of getting the Airtronics MX-Sport

im in the same esc vs. radio boat and i think i have decided to get the futaba 3pmx, 10 model memory i believe, and ive heard it feels better quality wise than the spektrums. ive also heard many complaints about airtronics stuff in general, and never had luck with it in the past with trucks and buggys...

as for esc's ive decided on a sidewinder with a cc bec and the link cable from holmeshobbies, best price, can get it preprogrammed if i dont want the cable.

next is servossss! hahaha

check out the KO PROPO EX-5ur also, it's the same price as the 3pmx and comes with a second rx. does the mx sport have a 3 pos third channel? it's something you deff want in a crawler radio.

I have the Airtronics MX-Sport I like it. The Airtronics MX-Sport has a 3 times the range of the DX3. I wish it had a 3 postion third channel. The
Airtronics MX-Sport has really fast responce.

One on the best upgrades I made was the Tekin FX R with a 45t motor!
I would get the 35t next time.
