the lockers will be redesigned, they wont have set screws because they wont need them!!! thus if u do break one of the lifetime warrantied shafts, u wont have to split the diff case to unlock the set screws in the locker. they will have a 6mm wide drive tang instead of the small square engagement. the small size of the original shafts engagement tang is part of the reason they get sloppy. the other is the metal used in the lockers. It sounds like u need to look into better locknuts or use some locktight when installing them.

I figured out the problem was the stock ax10 wheels. I just put on some eirtex sexy sixers. Plenty of thread now. Thanks for the feedback. I will take a set when they are available!

In that case I am interested ....depending on the price.

Are these going to be in the $140 range or less?

Hey,
I noticed it says you have to drill the side bevel gear. What is that about?

I've got the HD gears and that's not gonna be easy to drill through. And they are the under/over gears. Will that be a problem?

Also on the hexes ... Will you be offering those in SCX10 thickness (thinner than usual AX10)?

I would guess that because the shafts are 6mm the opening on the bevel gear needs to be bigger.

I finally got the money to order mine earlier today, can't wait to try them out.

A couple questions though.

1. like stated by Locked Up, how hard are HD gears gonna be to drill and how much bigger?

2. I assume the stubs will be the same as Berg Axial knuckle stubs, so if I manage to break anything but the shaft I might be able to borrow a pin or something from a Berg guy to finish the day?

3. will we be able to buy a single shaft to have as a spare at some point?

I don't mean to imply they'll break, but if anybody can break em it's gonna be me and I like to carry spare parts (esp parts I'd be done for the day without). Right now I'm snapping MIP's or Axials every other course on 2s and I'm ready to beat my junk on 3s.

the larger shafts!

I tried to drill them out myself with standard cheap drill bits, really dumb idea. they are hard just like the package says. any carbide drill will drill them. I wanted to make sure that anyone with a decent hobby tool box could do the mod. So I went to my tool box and found something that might work, its a small pointed round file that is approx. 5 inches long w/about 2.5 inches of cutting surface. its about 1/8th in diameter. It took me under 8 min. to simply file the hardened gear to the proper diameter. sucks to do trust me, though it can be done.

honestly the thinner ones ive tried have tended to crack in half, so I wont offer them.

answered above

Yes this is true.

3. will we be able to buy a single shaft to have as a spare at some point?

I will sell any individual parts that one would like to have.

"I just think that most of the axial owners will choke on the price of my kits in the 140-150 range. 196.00 on the conversion is a little tough to swallow. The other thing is I hate to think about grub screws loosening."

What happened-Your CVD's are $149.00.

You might have to call me dense. The statement above says that the shafts would be priced in the 140-150 range. While I figured that most of the axial owners would at least swallow very hard (choke a little maybe). I'm managing to save u 40.00 over the Falsenfets, for what is guaranteed with a"lifetime warranty" to be a quallity kit.
