Looks good."thumbsup"
I have something similar(kinda) but used the original plastic junk. Way more clearance and a pretty decent upgrade. I was gonna go BTA but this should do it for a while.

I'm trying to remember now... All I can say is that I did it when I got my knuckles and hubs, which I believe was in... September?:?

rubiweeler 01-22-2010 02:29 PM

Cool idea, looks like a good alternative to bta steering.

TODBLDZ 01-22-2010 04:59 PM

thats awesome. i have a bent link between my spindles now to clear the axle housing. i will try this mod also.

Col. Sanders 01-24-2010 04:23 PM

It is a great alternative to a bta setup, it's easy to make and you don't need to shave your knuckles.

DYNABOBBER 01-24-2010 07:56 PM

Nice

DYNABOBBER 01-24-2010 07:56 PM

AlphaQup 01-24-2010 08:41 PM

You guys inspired me, plus I was tired of having the drag link catch on everything...

This mod was a lot easier to do that I thought it would be. I cut a servo link in half and cut down the two halfs to 14mm. I tapped the side that was not threaded then bolted everything up. To make it work I had to put bent ball-joints on each end of the servo link.

It isn't as trick as AlphQup's, but I think it will do the job...

What length rod are you using when you bend them? Are you using a tubing bender?

fastfred28 01-28-2010 12:51 PM

very nice guys all look good"thumbsup"

Col. Sanders 01-28-2010 09:37 PM

For my links I just put em in a vice and bent them by hand being careful to line everything up and get it all symmetrical, but if your using a tube I would go for a bender or make a block jig.

I was sure that others had done this and now I know.Looking good.I ran this setup all last year and now have finally finished what I had thought about for to long.I really like my frt tierod setup but did not like the steering link from the servo.I had looked at how the BTA setups had the servo backwards and thought that would be great. So here is my Daughters new steering setup on her SWX.She is running stock so no dig.So steering angle is of utmost importance.:)

Col. Sanders 02-03-2010 01:42 PM

looks good!
