I also did that to my RTR, I used the outermost hole to mount the links with a threw bolt and nut then a short screw also on the innermost hole for the lower skid. Works great!

It's a good mod, suspension works a little better, and you don't keep snagging the links on rocks. Nice pictorial too, tpat.

I just used a course round file which is easy to find at any hardware store, and a little elbow grease. Came out neat as a pin. Because I drive hard I've busted a few link end fittings, so I used long, button head capscrews with locknuts on the inner ends. Solid as a rock, and I still have the choice of using any of the three holes.

Cheers.

Default plate

i did this an love it, it made it easier to flex, but youll need a spacer in between the ranny and plate, i picked up a simple alum. spaer for about 60 cents at ace hardware and worked perfectly

I did this to mine. It was pretty quick and easy to do. Much cleaner with less things to hang up on.

I didn't need need a spacer but I think it depends on what pinion you're running. I'm using the stock 14t and the links barely touch the motor, but no interference.

I did this to mine also. Pretty easy to do. I took a sharpie and marked where I wanted to cut and took the Dremel to it. Came out really nice.

This mod is AWESOME. I cut out way more than you other guys did, but I doubt it will be any harm.

I used a spiral cut bit in my Dremel and it cut through it like butter.

Now even with 150% throw my tires don't hit the links.

Well, I did this mod about 2 months ago now and everything is holding up great. I've even been using it as a rock racer lately and it's taken some pretty hard hits. It is one of the best mods I have done to my AX10. I'm glad to see that this thread has helped some of you guys and maybe even saved you some money. Thanks for looking!
