axial scx10 TR Shutting down

I just got my new TR in the mail the other day and I charged up my 3600 battery. It will only run for a few minutes and then it starts getting real jumpy and then shuts down. I noticed the esc is getting really hot. If you turn it off and back on it will run for another minute or so and then turn off again. I assume it is because the esc is hot but I don't know why its getting hot. Any help would be greatly appreciated. This is completely stock and I have not even got it outside yet.

it is also nice and smooth in reverse but if you try to go slow forward it is jerky.

any ideas?

Wouldn't this be Electrical? either way we are here to help (well try to atleast). My be a bad esc. I'm not sure about the scx10 but I know the rtr ax10 esc was not vary good. There could be some sort of a short in it. I'd call Axial ASAP.

yea the esc is the same one, AE-1. Any idea what would be a good upgrade that would just bolt right in. Sorry about the noob question but when it comes to electrical I am in the dark. I don't need anything special other than for it to run smoothy at low end power so I can crawl with it just for fun.

Check to see if there is any binding in the drivetrain. If there was binding it would overwork the esc and it would get really hot. The best thing to do is the take out the motor and turn the wheels. It should turn freely without any real resistance.

I checked for binding and everything rolled freely. Does the factory esc have a brake because mine will not hold itself at all.

My buddy is having the exact same issue with his AE-1 ESC. He is actually at the LHS trying to get it fixed, was 1 day after he bought it that he had this problem.

When the body is off, and you turn the ESC on the green light is dim and blinks a little then when you hit forward it turns itself off
