Default BTA steering kits / reviews

i'm considering a BTA steering setup. i've heard of the RPP Hobby's LD Racing BTA Kit being decent. but i've not found any actual reviews or pictures of it installed.

does anyone have actual pictures or experience in using this kit?

Here is a picture of my setup - not finished and tested. I'm using Vanquish knuckles, Axial c's and Axial CVD.

i just installed by LD racing bta, its nice and cheap
im running axial alum knucks i just grinded down the outside screw hole
has plenty of clearance with the included spacers
i did have to grind down the corner where the servo is at on the inside for clearance but nothing major
the only thing that kinda bugs me and its that way with the other bta kits is the wheel wobble, what ive notice with mine as well is that the screws holding the tie rod in with the spacers cant be over tight or the servo with be in overdrive to push the rod
it works great and its cheap

I would definitely go with the VP Hi-Steer knuckles, it will give you more steering then cutting the knuckles and using the spacers, that is what I did after trying it with the Axial Aluminum knuckles first.

You will really like the VP knuckles, it makes a huge difference, gets rid of the spacers and you will no longer have the shock/lower link mount to worry about because the hi-steer arm sits above all of it...

I'd like to see some pics of your axial bta set up. I have one that I just took off because it's giving me nothing but problems. I'm about to re do it and if you got yours set up and you're happy with it then maybe I can use yours as a reference when I do mine again.

Can't say I have a problem with wobble or slop on mine, I am currently using stub shafts and axles because i have been blowing up CVD's, mine tire and wheels only move slightly from side to side but I thinks that is more just the tire not being 100% true, not caused by the steering.

I just pulled the original v2 (ldrp/jetdesigns) kit off my axles for a "tuneup". After 2yrs and I don't know how many batteries and 3 servos, it showed very little wear around the holes in the tie rod, the spacers where perfect. I drilled out the holes, inserted some bushings from axial and put it all back together with a jr 8711.

Ldrp took my design, cleaned it up a bit with some suggestions from me and in my opinion, now has the best bta on the market.
