Lookin good. I'm running the stock Axial drive shafts on my FF4 and that rear one is stretched out about as long as it can go. I'm amazed it hasn't exploded or stripped out on me but it's been hanging in there.

I'm running a FXR a 55T motor with a 3S lipo, a 45T would probably give me just enough wheel speed to destroy something in no time at all :)

Do you make your own links? If so what do you use to taper the ends? They look really clean.

DickyT 03-25-2010 03:44 PM

Build is looking good so far! I am running Mip C-Spline on mine. I use the shorty (dig) spline on the front :lmao:and a ground down regular spline on the rear. I do have a VP dig installed which pushes the spline back a bit. They barely made the connection before I installed the dig in the rear.

Looking forward to seeing another FF-4 progress to a functional whoop ass shafty!

looks good so far

but why is your steering linkage in the front, and not the back. it is a Bta link, right?

"thumbsup"

yea its a bta link and this is just first mock up, i dont have all part to build it yet:p going to go for VP dig vp High steer knuckles VP rear 4link plate Gmade Transition shocks junfac driveshafts. and VP razors(not sure on those but ill buy and try)

the links are R2J custom phatties :) and they made the perfect length 12.5in full droop and 12ish in full extension:p

this build will take som e time since the tax refund crap bit me in the arse and i have to pay 2333$in extra tax this year ./cry

i have FXR esc and 45T motor and im going to power it with a 3cell lipo :p
im just missing the VP, Junfac parts and steering+dig servo par to make it complete and its approx 500-600$until completion.

RickM 04-02-2010 10:11 AM

Wheels

What wheels are you running? I like em.

Sverref 04-06-2010 04:55 AM

these wheels http://www.rc4wdstore.com/2/product_...roducts_id=300

but i think they are going to get replaced they sit to tight on my steering knuckles:(

i wonder one thing, should i go for the 1/8 scale G transition shocks or the 1/10 ? only difference is the spring tension rate, pls help me:)

DickyT 04-06-2010 07:16 AM

Go with 1/10 g transitions. you rig will not weigh enough for the 1/8 and will run very stiff.
