Default Axial Comp Shocks / shock cap spacer

The rubber spacers that are in my shock caps are getting really ripped up and falling apart and i was wondering if any of you have had this problem and what would make a good replacement.

How do you have your shocks mounted to the chassis? I've been running the comp shocks for about 8 or 9 months and the bushings still look like new. I guess one option would be to run the plastic ball in your caps if the rubber won't last.
