I must have read this build a dozen times over now... I love seeing it getting brought back up to the first page because it is full of so much great info. (plus it shows that some people really do search!)

Default Sticky this !

This build up should be stickied as a low budget (relatively) list of mods for newbie crawlers. I'm am pretty new to crawling and had to find most of the info in this thread through searching on here, this would make it easier by having everything in once place. Great work

This is always the thread I recommend to people, when they ask what they should do next after getting a truck

Great thread.

I'm not a newbie anymore but I still just read through the entire thread and it was entertaining and informative still.

I started in much the same way except with a RTR AX-10 so this brings back memories.

Too bad the Axial ARTR was discontinued IIRC. A great rig for people to start out with.. Don't have to build it so it won't intimidate anyone and yet you don't have to pay for crappy electronics you'll replace later anyhow. My wife has one that she's still learning about with my help. I should have her read this thread sometime.

1. Tires w/ weight and get the battery/electronics off of the stock battery plate
2. Driveshafts
3. Knuckles and C-Hubs (good time to get that BTA kit)
4. Front Universal Joints
5. Get more steering (see #3 above)
6. OD/UD gears or dig (still would run either the OD or UD gears with the gears--both if you are not planning on installing a dig)
7. Suspension/link geometry
Thanks

I have an AX10 RTC on it's way, and am reading and re-reading this build to hopefully help figure out what direction I want to go with mine. Thanks!!
