Default What happens when its to soft!

I just put some losi shocks on my FF4'd axial and I am running the white springs. i say dance with the one you brung first. Well am worried the white springs have me dancing all over if you know what I am saying. I also reset the trottle curve on my mamba max so that might just be it also. Anyway, what happens when you setup suspension to soft? I am not experiencing TT as I do know exactly what that is! Just wondering if my new squirly feeling is a result of a softer setup.

TeThe bigget problem I have with too soft a setup is that when you try to float a tire over a gap, it won't float the tire. the tire will just drop down into the gap and either throw you off line, or bind you up.

That is actually fixed with internal suspension limiting
The only problem(s) I see would be in:
Sidehills, I have had, at least, my front suspension stupidly soft with a 3-link (BOO) and it just wanted to roll over all day
Climbs can be a bit more difficult since if one tire wants to "torque twist" and/or lift, you could be in trouble.

I do know quite a few people who run Losi Gold's, soft springs, and don't have any issues, but then again they are used to how it all works So my take is start out firmer and work your way softer, I started soft and working my way back

Default Here is what I am running

I changed my setup and this is what I am noticing. I went from a stock/custom setup and went to losi 4s with 20wt oil in all three corners but left rear. I am not sure if it was my suspension or my esc but my truck kept pushing around the test course in the yard. Anyway firmed up the rear springs and went to a 50 wt oil in the front. Appears to want to stick the front a bit better.

i've gone from 30wt to 35 to 80wt. the 80wt seems to control (damping) the suspension more. i do run a softer springs in the front. i did notice that with lighter wt oil in my shocks, on higher degree climbs she would twist up a bit quicker.

so now i run stiffer springs in the rear with 80wt. in all 4 corners

Per DickyT's axial FF-4 setup this is what I'll be running after this weekend..

Losi 4" shocks Gold springs all the way around and 50wt oil fronts, 60wt left rear, 45 weight right rear

I'm also going to externally limit each shock somewhere between 12-15mm with fuel tubing..
