I am new to this and love it! There is just 1 problem....... I have no idea what I am doing! I want to get into this deep and build an awesome crawler (I know I know you hear that a lot in here) but I am serious! I would be willing to sell all my other RC stuff and put it into the slowest RC I have ever owned! I would like to have someone to PM or maybe just use this thread to converse and help me figure out what the hell I am doing. I have searched and searched and all I get is confused and more confused. So far what I have is an out of the box AX-10 with a Novak Goat 3S system on the way. I also have lipos on order (don't ask me which ones I left that up to my buddy who has been in electrics for a while. I really don't need help with the electronic portion of it just the up grades and must haves (I know there is a sticky thread dedicated to that) I just want to take it one step at a time and know why it is the best and what it will change on my crawler. I know that it is an expensive hobby I have been in RC for a while now but am green to crawlers. One thing I don't want is "Use the search function" I have. I got nowhere. I can go into a Jato forum and search and know exactly what they are talking about because I have been in it for so long. It is hard for me to do that here because it is all greek to me. Any help would be appreciated! ADOPT ME! Thanks, Jeremy

Ok I just ordered the CKRC Rockstar Chassis (C) which comes with the stage 2 supension kit. What should I do about shocks? The kit comes with softer springs which I believe is better?

The softer springs are better, but do urself a favor and upgrade to aluminum. Either threaded axial or losi crawler shocks.

What size? I looked at the piggy back ones on Tower but if crawling is anything like the rest of rc the piggy back is pretty much pointless.

The piggy back is pointless in anything but a 1.1 rig. Basically just allows you to run more fluid and keep it cool. Which isnt really an issue with these rigs. I would get the 4" LOSIs or the axial alum comp shocks ( I think the are 4" too. )

Ok I have the shocks in my cart at Tower. What is next? When I order I like to order several things at a time. How important is rear steer? I know it looks cool and is a fairly easy mod but should it be at the beginning or the end of my mod wish list? As for the Losi gold and gray shocks are they comparable to the ones that come in the CKRC Stage 2 Competition Upgrade Kit? I would like to thank you guys for the adoption

best advice I can give is this, lower it to about 2.5 inches off the ground at the skid, but a set of HBRs and get the strongest steering servo you can find, and put the stiffest spring in the left rear you can find. and that will give you the very begining.

Integy is known for its bad product jacking. Personally I wont buy from again unless I need a motor.

Dig is a good upgrade, but you also need a radio to handle it. and Another servo. If ur gunna get into the axles with alum parts, go ahead and throw in some overdrive gears up front. BTA steering will help as well and gives you a place to mount ur battery on the front axle. | |

I haven't ordered shocks yet I wanted to add to my order before I pressed the button. But I will order the springs you mentioned. As for a DIG what do you recommend? I have a Traxxis Summit trans and rec on the way so it will handle it among other things
