| Well I was patient and got super lucky, picked up a brand new Axial AX10 w/ Novak Goat 2s system, 1 Jeep body & 1 stock AX10 body, axial aluminum upgrades, lipo, Futaba 3PK w/ Spektrum module and SR3001 RX. This thing is flawless and got it super cheap! What upgrades should I make so this thing is bullet proof? It already has Alum. C-hubs and steering knuckles and Alum. Front & Rear Lockouts. ![]() Last edited by jthomas143; 05-31-2010 at 05:41 PM. |

Thanks, are these the shocks you are talking about? http://www.axialracing.com/ftp/ax10o...shock_set.html Also, what does anyone recommend to replace the driveshafts, are the steel universal from CKRC any good? CKRC - http://www.ckrccrawlers.com/ckrcstee...rs-p-2627.html or MIP - http://www.ckrccrawlers.com/mipdrive...on2-p-908.html or just get these as a quick fix - http://www.ckrccrawlers.com/ax10alum...krc-p-867.html

| MIP driveshafts, steel tranny outputs, aluminium wheels and Super 300 CVD's will make it almost bulletproof. The diff gears, tranny gears and rear locker (front is replaced with the 300's) will give up at some point and need beefed also. Although the hammers really can't grab enough traction to break most of that stuff. |

| As long as you stick with dogbones most of the other parts will break long before the 300's become a must, and like I said Hammers really can't grip well enough to break much. That brushless motor lays down a metric shit ton of torque though and once you get some tires that grip axleshafts start to take some abuse, when I ran brushless before the 300's came out I was changing broke CVD's every 10 minutes no matter how easy I drove the truck. When you have $200-$300 dollars worth of broke CVD's laying in a pile that $150 becomes a bargin, plus the 50 degrees of steering can't be matched. |

Ok thanks, what tires will get me some good grip? I have seen a bunch of people using HB rovers I believe. I actually just broke my rear driveshaft, got it rigged now to stay on...MIPs just ordered and should be here on Thurs. Last edited by jthomas143; 06-02-2010 at 06:36 PM.

| The rovers are great, so are sedona's and panther leopards. Nova's Ark foams in white compound Rovers or Senonas is the hot comp setup right now. You'll be suprised how much better the truck climbs over stuff with new tires. Not sure who has the best price on Rovers right now, but usually you can get two pairs for around $20. |

| Enjoy it for a bit first. People always get caught up in immediately upgrading and forget how fun they are just to drive around. Plus, if you updgrade too fast, it become a lot harder to decipher what changed the truck, for better or worse. |

Once you spend $100-$200 on mips or axial CVD's, the $150 for the 300's becomes a mentally smaller number. the warranty on them certainly makes the price worth it Welcome to RCC, the rig looks great!

| Yeah, I'll prob order the 300's as soon as the stock ones break. I am thinking about upgrading the shocks to either the Axial Alum comp shock or the losi 4" comp shock. Any opinions on either of these or another brand? I see that the Traxxas Big Bore shocks are popular, but which vehicle are they from? Last edited by jthomas143; 06-09-2010 at 10:59 AM. |
