Default DNA Dig problem

I have a DNA dig assembled, but the thing wont turn unless i force it to turn with a pair of pliers.

When i remove the dig from the tranny everything seems fine and spins fine.

So im lost confused right now...Help.

Is there a Brass pin that goes through the dig? Or is the output fully machined? Sometimes on the Brass pin version, the pin gets slightly tweaked out of place and it needs to get bent back.

Yes there is a brass pin that goes through it.

What do you mean by bent back?

make sure that that Pin is straight, Does it wobble when you spin it?? if it does, then bend it into a straighter position.

I'm not talking about the brass shaft that goes all the way through the dig assembly, that is the shift rod. I'm talking about a brass pin that comes out of the output of the tranny.

Check to make sure that the dig case is fully seated against the transmission case, also did you lightly lube all of the moving parts with some good grease? My DNA dig is very smooth and works great

Make sure you did not overtighten the Dig to the Tranny case, I did and it was very hard for it to shift.

Also my output shaft on the dig was not drilled deep enough to allow the dig to engage. You should take the output shaft out and put it on the brass shaft and try to engage it on the output of the tranny, and see if they mate up. Mine did not I had to drill it out.

Some of the DNA digs did not fit the tranny case perfectly so make sure it mates up nice and tight. If not, you can trim away some of the plastic on the lower portion of the trans. I never had one single problem with my DNA digs. And that was back when I was paying 90 to 100 bucks for them.

Can you put small spacers/washers (maybe 1mm or so) between the tranny and the skid and screw it back together to raise the tranny slightly? I dont see it making a noticable difference to your centre of gravity and then you might not have to grind anything.

Default I put washers on mine

I put washers on mine and I am pretty sure it has not cost me any comp points. I also had to grind up some of my dig for placement in my chassis and it all turned out fine. I had some setup issues with my dig as well but after I realized it was my fault I have been very happy with it.

I'm sure he meant VF- Visionary Fabrication. Just an unfortunate typo.
