I've been working on this for awhile, and was finally able to get something done on Friday. It uses the same geometry as the FF-4 (some of you may notice that), but in a bodiless design. I'm going to build this up soon, but thought I would post some pictures of just the chassis first. If there is enough interest in this, I'll do a run of parts....not sure on the price, but it should be competitive. This is prototype only, and will more than likely change as it gets run. Post up any thoughts...I'm always open to ideas, suggestions and criticism. ![]() ![]() ![]()

I'm just getting into the crawlers, and I am thinking of doing the same, only in a truck profile.. I think I'm going to do mine in graphite... or graphite skinned alum.. Looks good..

Is that PC aluminum?? Would be considerably lighter in delrin, and more resilient also.

LOOKS SUPER GOOD MAN..........NICE WORK! I want in on this! You have any Prototype's? Ill support you, local and all. I AUTO CAD'd A similar setup but its really hard not to make chassis look same as others but you did great job.... When you think you'll have available?

I'm going to do a top half on my x-crawler.. I'm also interested to know material,, I would lean toward a metal, with a composite skin, I'm thinking a full composite will be too lite.. Is this the wrong way to think on a crawler?

Nice! I'd ad in some chassis supports between where the top attaches to the chassis. That looks like a week point during a tumble. Just my .02, but it looks really nice as always.

Still working on that, but I always strive to give the fairest price I can. I will be crunching the numbers to keep the price of this one fair. Quote:

One question I have for you Patrick, is your interpretation of the wording "to resemble a cockpit". I'm sure I have all my other measurements correct, but the wording of this section of the rule is open to interpretation. I wanted it to look like a modern jet fighter, but that might not relate well when it comes to crawlers. | ||||||||

Consider me interested! I love the FF4 and cannot for the life of me find a shell that is worthy as far as looks and comps well.

I'll take a "top" cut out of delrin. I will make it fit the FF-4 Juan, maybe a bit tall? Bodiless minimum height is 3.75", also make sure it has the minimum 1" from where the hood and windshield come together. I have been stewing on an idea, but this might change that
