Default new chassis with rear 4link

I finished putting my crawler together with its new chassis. Its a custom/ homebrew chassis that I got from reflection as well as the rear 4-link plate.

I just finished it this morning so I haven't ran it much yet but so far so good. I plan on fabbing some longer upper links for rear so I can use the lower holes. I also plan on making a front four-link/ servo mount out of my out battery tray.

I did some measuring and my belly clearance is 1" at bump on 3.25" at droop and it settles at 2.5"

Looks good so far. You might want to get some white springs for the rear tho.

Not disagreeing with you Krakker but The reds should work ok, They are a bit stiffer than the whites.

On an MOA i'd go with the whites in the rear. But on a shafty, stiffer springs on the rear always work better for me. I ran Losi whites up front and Greens in the rear on my shafty for a long time. Worked great

I run (at least for now) Axial Green's in the rear and red's in the front and I notice it helps a lot when crawling, just me but I know for people who get the torque twist dialed out, they run soft springs all around, but its all a matter of personal choice

I haven't got a chance to play with it much, I basically just swapped everything over from my stock chassis with three link rear to this other chassis, I haven't noticed any torque twist and I want to try softer losi whites when I get another chance.

So far I'm very pleased with it I have noticed it feels like it has way more belly clearance but it measures almost exactly the same as before, the only thing I can think of is because this chassis is like 3/4" narrower than the stock chassis.

I also flipped the motor and trans in preparation for dig when I get the money.

I want more steering throw I know that my hitec 645mg isn't the best servo for the job but I know that isn't the only thing limiting me. I want to turn down the stub shafts. and possibly get some aluminum c's which should help tremedously.

tried whites on the rear 2day and I really like it. NO Torque twist and best I can tell I have anti squat front and rear. It crawls really well. I have about 45-50* articulation. I have some stock straight lowers I'm going to cut down for uppers. more pics when I get further along.

Got a couple actions shots after work and before the afternoon thunder showers.

This is at my little test spot at the end of my house.

I am looking at getting some of gunnars body mounts. I think I need to add a little weight to rear tires, right now only the fronts are weighted. I am running Proline Super Soft memory foams in front, do they look too soft? I am running cut panther foams in the rear and they seem perfect and I might cut the other set even more and try in front.

Do you see more articulation with this set-up? Meaning the 4-link.

actually less the axial will flex too much out of the box, with the four link the articulation is more controlled. I have less "axle steer," I think they call it but its where you have the rear compressed on only one side and the rear doesn't drive straight inline with the chassis almost like you have four wheel steering. with the rear 4 link the rear axle moves more directly up and down instead of with 3 link it travels in an arc shape.
