I've always thought the shape of a link is entirely unimportant to it's function, other than for clearances purposes. As long as one spherical joint is connected rigidly to a second, the path between them doesn't matter. I guess you're saying that's wrong.

He's saying that with how short the link is, there's no need for special bends because they will be more likely to get you Hung up on the rocks.

It is the angle at which the link intersects the chassis. If you have too much bend in the front links you end up having to go across a V rather than --. Those examples are extreme but I hope get my idea across. With the front side of the V having to be pushed upwards to get to the skid rather than flat or downwards.

Wow I really should have continued with my engineering degree instead of going on to work 20 years ago. I might have had a clue on what y'all are talking about. But the more I read the more I'm starting to understand things. Thanks. Oh and I'm still ordering one of these chassis later this spring. Love the benefits of Tito much not to.

I have an engineering degree and I can get confused easily.. LOL.

If you want a VERY simple set up for the fastback, to run off the shelf axial suspension that will get you going and be VERY reliable here is what you need.

Rears

Buy the 30 degree - offset bend lower links, one pair will do.
This makes your rear lowers.
For rear uppers, use the axial straight pipe, I think it is 106mm in length, or you can use the shorter ones and put some longer end links on them.

For fronts.

Lowers you need to get the axial 74.5mm pipes, with some traxxas end links are quite nice, uppers you use the axial spacer bars, i believe 55mm is the ideal length.

With some traxxas end links on all of it, a D-link in the back, and some other goodies you can get something that looks like this.

Puts the wheel base right at 12.5, and with stock XR10 or Losi shocks, they are a ton of fun..

Got it now. You would rather rub along the bottom of a flat link, onto the skid than totally clear the link via a bend, and then suddenly hit the leading edge of the skid. Makes sense.

Glad you didn't take that personally. As a mechanic, I am contractually obligated to harass engineers.
