By comp truck I assume you mean Big Jeff's Alumi-Fighter. Yes, it is being completed this week (it's currently a roller finally). It needs to be wired and tuned. I have a bunch of pictures and will post a build thread once it's done in the berg section.

After a long time on a shelf in Oklahoma, this rare little rig is now in the possession of C.I.

First and foremost; respect and appreciation to all the vendors on this forum that make amazing parts.

Second, thank you to Holmes Hobbies and Vanquish Products for their sponsorship.

Parts list for the white moon buggy build:
Axial axle parts. I will be under driving front and rear to test it. With over and under gears, the trucks can react oddly at times, especially in reverse. I'm going to try this truck geared down first:

This little transmission is amazing and expensive. Hulksta Engineering - Left Skinny carbon fiber trans with titanium output shaft, Full Axial XR10 lightened and machined gears, Y Town Crawlers left skinny transmission mount. This little trans is soo cool! :-D

I built these axles with all new parts since this is a 2.2S build. Mechanical failures on the rocks is a major disappointment. For the most part, they are straight forward to assembly. The XR mod tubes require drilling & tapping, so it's not a direct bolt on mod. The mod is well worth doing for anyone debating it's merits.

I like the link geometry on this chassis, and my previous t1e shafty worked well, but it was too narrow. It was sold before I got around to doing the XR mod to it. I'm excited to see how this truck responds on the rocks with wider axles. It will be my sons comp rig.

Pic of tonight's progress:

Crawler Innovations is excited to release this latest creation.

Presenting the C.I. Cell Block.

The C.I. Cell Block is a 4" machined foam cube.

The purpose of the Cell Block is to support the weight of a RC Crawler at the chassis and not on the Tires & Foams.

The C.I. Cell Block does this during storage of the crawler, maintenance of the crawler, while standing in line for your turn at a competition, or ...???

By supporting your RC Crawler at the skid plate, it will prevent flat spots in the tires and foams prolonging the usable life of both.

I have been using a Cell Block for months and its handier than I ever imagined a block of foam ever could be! In addition to being a lightweight awesome rig stand you can put holes in it and use it for a tool stand.

Thank you for your continued business. C.I. would not exist without the customers.

More progress this evening. :-D

Shocks are Traxxas 2660 3.5" Big Bores, shock cap mod, three hole pistons, mini t springs, Jeepindoug mini t spring cups, internally limited to 3.5".

In mock up with stock links to fine tune drive shaft angles and wheel base. I will replace the links with titanium. Currently 12 1/4" static WB.

I'm sure I'm not the only one that this happens to, to be so excited about a build that you can't wait to get back to it. This truck is that way for me. It's been over two years since I've built a 2.2 Shafty rig & that was way too long. I came into the shop early this morning to get more progress on this build :-D

I left the rig in the camera booth over night and one of the newly built shocks leaked, boo. It left a nice little stain on the white cardboard.

Wheelbase is so important when setting up a custom crawler. Some chassis designs grow more than others when they are compressed. This little chassis grows roughly 1/4". I do not use delrin rod for links because small diameter delrin rod will stretch and actually take a new shape over time. Links cut from delrin plate tend to hold their shape and length better.

I did not have any titanium close to length for the rear lowers, so for now, they are staying. Plus I like how the white stands out.
The front U & L links are from Chaotic Crawlers, rear uppers are Lunsford. RPM rod ends and Traxxas aluminum balls throughout.

I'm not going to cut the cab to use for strengthening on the chassis. The delrin chassis has a lot of flex to it. I added a ti link to brace the open area where a stock AX10 trans would have been. I may just add another link on the opposite side to strengthen the core of the chassis.

Little by little it's getting done :-)

Instead of that Ti link why not a piece of white G10 and 2 bolts on each side?
The way I see it, the link will only help when you compress but will not help with torsion (because of the rod ends)...

That's a good idea, and correct about the single link. I don't have any white delrin or G10, and I'm OK with the chassis flex. These delrin chassis's flex a bunch. Sometimes it can keep something from breaking. I'd rather have a piece of carbon fiber cut for bracing, but I'm frankly not sure the chassis is worth it. I have a Y Town Villain to build for myself once I finish this for my son.
