Default Updating my ax10 on a tight budget!

This is my 2008 Era ax10. I purchased a chassis links and a few other things from bmachinerc to start the process off. My hat is off to bmachinerc (Bruce) has been very helpful and patience with me. I have not made any real updates to my ax10 so this has been confusing and interesting journey. I also need to wave a huge hand to Troy for all is advise help and tips.

My gear box needs a serious diet! I removed the slipper clutch and added the short shaft. I also added harded aluminum gears from hot racing. Then Troy from custom fiber made me a motor guard and a b mini and cc bec smashed it and waterproofing! I was very surprised at how small the smash turned out to be. I also ordered a carbon fiber motor mount plate from dravpar.

I picked up few parts for the xr10 mod for the front and rear axles. Here is a few rough pictures of that I'll update them after the holidays. The custom fiber distroy plate I think I will enjoy.

I ordered xr10 plastic standouts chubs and knuckles to switch out with the ax10 ones.

For the shocks I ordered several parts. For the spring cups rcbros. For the upper retainers I visited creation fab. As soon as all the parts show I'll post a few pictures. I added a o ring to the shock and removed the plastic spacer and green slime. I also ordered silver mrc springs. For a Servo I'm using a Holmes Hobbies v2. I may have to get a new Servo horn I my need a few suggestions on which one.

For wheels I picked up some crawler innovation 6 bolt wheels and foams. I will be needing some tires eventually as the cash shows up.

Looks like you put some time in, searching for the best parts for your build.

Keep it up Fish! Can't wait to see the build progress to the rocks..

My old chassis weight was 6 lbs. This one assembled I'm in th 4 lb range which is a major improvement. However not the 3lb that some of you run.

I did some timing on the body

I do like the motor cover. He also did an excellent job on the smashing of the esc.

Great list of parts so far. I wouldn't worry too much about being at the 3 lb mark. 4 lbs is a very workable weight for a shafty.
